Bar none 的由來與概念，有一種說法認為，
bar none 這個用法可追溯至 19 世紀中後期（約 1860 年代） 的英文文獻。
這裡的 bar 並不是「酒吧」，
而是較舊用法中作為 介系詞，意思是：bar = except / excluding（除了……之外）
因此：bar none = excluding no one
換句話說，就是 「沒有任何例外」。
bar none 通常會用來：
搭配 最高級形容詞放在句尾，或插在句中作為強調語
